Harry's Bar
Many celebrities have enjoyed the old-fashioned atmosphere of this bar. The Bellini (a mixture of white peach juice and sparkling prosecco) was invented here.
Also the carpaccio of beef was invented here for an Italian contessa who was on a diet.

Antico Martini Restaurant
Housed in an old historical palace next to the La Fenice Opera House. You can have dinner first and then a drink in the pianobar next door (belonging to the same restaurant). Food: Venetian dishes, seafood. The kitchen is opened till midnight.

Gran Caffe/Ristorante Quadri
The interiour of the restaurant is magnificent; two neo-classical salons with huge mirrors and chandeliers. Try to make reservations for a table at the window, overlooking the Piazza San Marco. The desert 'gelato al forno' (ice-cream, made of amaretto mousse and almonds with lightly baked meringue) is one of their specialities.
