Till 1942 this building was used as a hospital. Now the University of Milan is situated here. Around the inner courtyard are eight smaller courts. The magnificent square of this university is really worth a visit.

Basilica di San Lorenzo Maggiore

The San Lorenzo Columns These columns belonged to a Roman building (palace, baths or a temple) of the 2nd or 3rd century B.C. and were later situated in front of the Basilica mentioned above. They are beautiful lit at night.
