Museums
Milan has lots of museums and galleries worth visiting. The Poldi-Pezzoli museum and the Pinacoteca di Brera are the most famous ones. Most municipal museums are also opened in the afternoon and the admission is often free. |

Poldi-Pezzoli museum
The nobelman Gian Giacomo Poldi-Pezzoli left his art collection behind as a gift.
You can admire the paintings, tapestries, arms and clocks. It's worth a visit, if only for the rooms in witch it's displayed.

Pinacoteca di Brera
In this highly admired art gallery in the Brera district you’ll find artwork of Tintoretto, Raphael, Caravaggio, Goya, Gaudi, etc. (ranging from 13th to the 20th century).

La Scala Theatre Museum
This museum is temporarily housed in an old palace overlooking the Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie because it’s original housing (the Teatro della Scala) is under restorations. In the museum you can admire costumes used in performances, stage setting, antique musical instruments etc.
