Ghent is a fairly good city to go shopping, with a good variety of shops and several pedestrian shopping streets.
Regular shop hours are 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
Shops are closed on Sundays and official holidays.

   
Velderstreet in Ghent  

Velderstraat and Volderstraat
These streets cross each another and are the main shopping streets of Ghent. The Volderstraat is a bit more fashionable than the Velderstraat. A picture of the Volderstreet you find above.

Markets in Ghent  

Market
There are several markets such as: Flower market (Kouter every day from 7.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.) / Flea market (Sint-Jacobs/Beverhoutplein: Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings)
Small pets and barn-door fowl (Oude Beestenmarkt, every Sunday morning) / On the Groentenmarkt there's a market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
