The rooms in the 'Brauhäuser' are in general spacious and dark (also due to the dark wooden interior). This beerhouse has a beautiful room with an art deco leaded ceiling. Not only heavy food can be ordered here, the fresh salads are delicious.

Gaffel Haus in Cologne  

Gaffel Haus
The 'Brauhäuser' are often located in beautiful buildings. This traditional beerhouse is housed in two buildings that go all the way back to the Renaissance (16th century). The house as well as the beer that is brewed here is called Gaffel. This means as much as 'guild'. You have a nice view on the Alter Markt by the way.

Beer in Cologne  

The beer
This is where the Brauhäuser are famous for...their self brewed beer (Kölsch). It comes in small glasses served by waiters wearing big aprons. The waiters carry the beer in a special tray that can contain dozens of glasses.
